Few pictures taken from moomba water fest.

Kerry Lye in this picture :) And new friends :)
New COSDU club friends :)

The halfway decent picture of me. Ugh I am SHORT. Heels don't help here cause I walk alot and I need flats.

I've been busy if you must know. Assignments and tests piling up and I always wonder why I didn't quite enjoy my long holidays. Hehe. But I do love the adrenaline rush for assignments and tests. Heh. Keeps me busy at least and I don't bum around as much now. Fly fly away weight. Not like it has even started flying but a girl can dream right?

I've been happy. Life here has been kind to me in more ways than one. I actually take the time to try out new things nowadays. Things I was so lazy to do back in Malaysia. I have many things lined up. Stay tuned.

To the family, if only you can share this with me, I'll be one lucky fille. Soon okay? Let me make some dough 1st :)

Home Away From Home

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Glad you people at home are doing well without me :D Don't get too comfy though. I'll be back soon ;P

But I'm doing quite fine and just enjoying my stay here :) New friends are awesome!

Sorry for the lack of pictures. Heh. I look horrible so not uploading them until I have lost the extra pounds. Make that LOTS of extra pounds. Why the food here soooooo nice one :( Make me hungry all the time only. Hmph.

Toodles :)

Moving again

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Moving day again. But it's to my own place so I can't complain. Plus, it's nearer to shopping places :P

I actually have to buy my own groceries now. The thought of cooking by myself gives me this huge adrenaline pump yet totally terrifies me at the same time. I feel like taking that frying pan and cooking up an awesome omelette. Thats the best I can do OKAY. I'm sorry not sorry if I feel that in 5 years men will be staying at home cooking and women will be out playing with stocks in the market. Not that market. It's not chicken stock either. Men will be grocery shopping in that market. Fine, supermarket if you wish to call it.

I've been okay here so far. Trying out new things has made me realise how much I have been missing out on living in my little cocoon of comfort back home. I mean, I've never walked to so many places in my life before. Well, can't exactly compare cause the weather here is much better for walking purposes. I've never so much as wanted to take public transport unless someone was with me due to certain reasons. I have my reason okay. Don't call me a brat. Now, taking the tram doesn't terrify me. I haven't tried the train but I will soon :) Getting lost here is not so bad. My boyfriend, M, is with me all the time, helping me get to places so all I have to do is look at him to know where I am going. If he can't tell me, people here are friendly and nice enough to help :)

As I said, I've been okay. Now that I've got the most important things settled here, I'm just waiting for classes to start so I can get busy again. I hope I've joined enough societies as well. I'm contemplating getting a job. Maybe. Possibly. I know if I have too much time to think and ponder, I will miss home badly. Not too sure what will happen when the cousin leaves but hopefully this fille who has been itching to be independent will be okay. I'll be okay :)

p.s.: Yes the boyfriend is my MAP.

Melbourne :)

Monday, February 23, 2009

Getting lost in the city is such fun sometimes :) I don't feel stupid getting lost. People here are so friendly!

Okay I miss the family dearly. I'll admit it. All the things I'm buying are for them. I can't imagine them not coming to see me in June :( :(

But keeping busy with uni stuff now. Plenty to do. So little time. I'm out everyday and there's plenty to see here!

Oooooh I went to the State Library :) And I traveled to Phillips Island to see penguins! The cutest things ever :)

I'll update soon once I've settled down in my new place. Now I'm a nomad living with a friend. Toodles.

You people at home, don't forget me ya hear? I'll be back so fast you'll wonder how fast time flies :)

Busy busy busy!!

Friday, February 13, 2009

Been busy okay.

Sorry I don't have time to update much these days unless you wanna hear me grumble about the amount of things I can't bring with me. Packing is such fun.

Add in a splash of last minute outings with friends and spending time with the family and I hardly have time for myself anymore. Oh but I'll have plenty of it soon I suppose. In Aussie, I shall become anti social :P

Just joking. I don't even like to eat by myself. I feel this huge sadness tugging at my heart whenever I see people eat alone :(

I'll catch up with everyone once I've settled down :)

Pictues shall be sparse for the time being although I love my new cam to bits :D

The Funny Thing About Human Beings

Sunday, February 01, 2009

So here I come to impart some words of wisdom. Hear me and listen well.

"What is the human being's funniest characteristic?"

A:'Our contradictories. We are in such a hurry to grow up, then we long for our lost childhood. We make ourselves ill earning money, then we spend all the money on getting well again. We think so much about the future that we neglect the present, and thus experience neither the present nor the future. We live as if we were never going to die and die as if we had never lived.'

- Shamelessly plagiarised from the book Like The Flowing River by Paulo Coelho. Give the book a flip. It only takes a few things to give us that boost of self confidence we are lacking these days.

*******

I know my blog lacks pictures. Its just because I am practically handicapped when it comes to editing pictures and lately I haven't taken much either. I shall lose the weight first okay? BUT here's one halfway decent picture of me. No comments unless you mean it. And I accept negative ones as well. Maybe that will get my butt to the gym. But no one has been commenting anyway.

It's blurry la. Webcam sucks. But it covers up the pimples and the bright light helps tons. I don't know how to use photoshop. It's not even installed in the lappy. Teach me when I ask you to.

But the sun's been quite kind.

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Okay random note.

Am I the only one who thinks US President Obama's voice is dreamy? Huhu. I fell in love with it when he appeared on Ellen. Michelle is so lucky :)

Currently listening to Your Song by Elton John. Every version I can find on Youtube. I would literally be floored if any guy ever sang this for me. Ewan McGregor type in Moulin Rouge okay. Or even like Ronan Keating :D :D Don't warble and kill an awesome song. Muchas gracias.

Happy Chinese "Niu" Year ya'll!!

For those friends overseas, nyeh nyeh :P Can't collect all those red packets :)

Don't worry la. Pretty sure you're parents will collect ang pows on your behalf :) The time of the year where taking money from people doesn't feel bad has come.

And the weight has come back :( Boohoo. I shall starve myself in Aussie.

Frustrated

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

I am feeling so restless la. Why does it not pay to be efficient? Grrrr!

Give me the damn COE la! *fumes* I'm not very patient okay. The limit is there. I want to get things over and done with.

Pretty please? :)

: )

Thursday, January 08, 2009

Yeah I am unproductive. But I didn't choose it okay. So what to do when you've got time on your hands but no money in the pockets? Indulge in crazy doses of Youtube :)

ps: That girl on astro who keeps prancing around in her weird hairdo wishing happy new year makes me want to smack her. So irritating.

Noises

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

One of the perks of living in a condo is that its cooling. Not all the time but most of the time.

However, when there is a heavy thunderstorm the strong wind makes the place feel like you're living in a haunted mansion. The noises I'm hearing now would be great for a low budget horror film. And considering MY past with horror movies, well, I'm just feeling lucky this wasn't at night because if it were, I doubt I could sleep a wink.

ps: I got my offer letter! Flying to Melbourne on the 16th of February :)

You had me at Hello

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Hello 2009.

Goodbye 2008.

Another year. Another year lays instore for us to rediscover where we fit in the world. Or it can be just another year to make mistakes. Small, big, who cares really. Growing older has made me realise how much time means. I'm gonna be twenTEEN next year. Yet, it seems surreal.

Gah, I'm rambling.

Many things have happened this year. Too many to name but all have played some albeit small part to make it a great year.

Lets seee...

I went to uni. I like the word uni. Better than college.
Learned Mandarin.
Learned a bit of sign language :)
Found out I don't quite suck at uni life.
Found out I could hate some people that much.
Made new friends.
Got a tattoo.
Saw the smiling moon.
Discovered my love for cocktails and dresses.
Had another awesome caroling session.
Great Chritsmas spent with family.
Etc etc.

As I said, too many to name. And of course the awesome people who have come into my life and made me what I am today.

Next year will be full of changes. Not sure if I'm ready but I do feel ready to spread my wings a little bit :) Parents are the best people in the world. I'm serious.

Okay enough rambling. I already feel shitty bout turning 20.

****

Promised pictures! Sorry it took some time but I've just been busy or plain lazy.

Caroling 2008.

This year was a miracle. We only managed to practice twice before the actual caroling. Yet we did great :) We sang in 20 houses for 3 days and managed to collect RM 1400 for charity. It feels good giving back.

The throne :(
Oreo according to Evan. Get it?
The siblings.

Baybeh ;D
If only they were much older :) I don't want to be labeled a paedophile :(

Counting money.

For all pictures, please adjurn to my facebook okay. Blogger has PMS at times.

Lastly, HAPPY 2009 EVERYONE!

The new year is coming. I'm still thinking if I should get a new year's resolution. The past ones have never worked out. Failed would be putting it mildly :)

Seasons greetings!

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Hello dear blog readers, I'm sick :(

I KNOW. On christmas. But getting better. Mild fever only. Though kinda lost my voice. The thought of the chrsitmas turkey, goose, lamb, sausages etc etc makes me feel better :)

Anyway,

A VERY BLESSED AND MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

May this yuletide season bring you love, joy and happiness for the coming years.

Muuacks!

Thursday, December 11, 2008

You know what's damn shiok?

Finding money you never knew you had :D :D

Damn happy one okay. I finally wore this pair of jeans I left hanging on the clothes rack to collect dust, mold and what not eons ago.  Felt into the pockets and pulled out an RM50 note. I felt richer instantly :) Was thinking it was scrap paper and was walking to the dustbin some more.

Have been feeling broke for weeks. Mini jackpot :)

Currently tuning in to songs by Charice Pempengco. That girl's voice is one of the best. Go ahead and prove me wrong. I hope she makes it big. I mean, she's already been on Oprah and Ellen. What more is there right? Oh wait. She sang with Celine Dion. NOW what else is there?

Ideas?

Monday, December 01, 2008

I want a new header. I WANT I WANT I WANT! *Throws tantrum*

Please? *Smiles* Just living up to my childish behaviour. Hmpph! Mum calls me childish nowadays. What did I doooo. Watch cartoons? Get all happy when musicals start showing? Sing along to Mamma Mia? ( Which btw, I'm not going to see and a lot of people I know are. Sigh. They are all going with family and I happen to be born into one with not much interest. Oh actually we are interested in freeee musicals. But tickets are sold out anyway. Broadway, I hear you. Too bad there are moths in my pocket now.)

I digress. I just have no idea what picture I want.

I've grown bored with the current one and it doesn't feel like me anymore. I know I may hate change because something's always changing but minor ones like these I love.

I shall search for one soon.

And congratulations all Monashians! We survived! I'm partly excited to be going to Melbourne next year but I am not ready. Yet. Preparations are so bothersome :(

Grateful :D

Friday, November 28, 2008

I'm so grateful. From the bottom of my heart okay. Eternally.

Although this sem has been hectic, results have been released and I can smile again. I didn't think I could make it through this sem but somehow, I did. Miraculously been showered with blessings. Some I might not have deserved but I'm not complaining. That would be stupid.

Thanks to all of you who have helped me come this far.

p.s: I've found a new love! Shawls :D

And the cutie I'm refering to in my pm on msn is not someone I like lar. Haih. Its Liam Aiken who acted in Stepmom. His smile makes me gooey. He killed me on the spot when I watched the movie years ago. He still kills me now :)

Chicken heart okay.

Monday, November 24, 2008

I fail to see the reason for subjecting myself to such torture.

Audrey, I must REALLY love you. Twice in my life I have entered the cinema for a horror film and BOTH were with you.

After promising myself I would never watch another horror film in the cinema again lest my chicken heart stop beating halfway in the cinema, I thought it was time for a change. I feel full of changes now. Obama style. Teehee. Okay lame.

Anyway, I felt quite confident lor that I could take it this time. I mean the last one was....3, 4 years ago? I've grown stronger ya'll. After today, apparently not enough. Boohoo I'm still a chicken.

Haha. But I had fun scaring myself. I DID watch some parts okay. And at least I know the story this time. Means I watched a good part of it. :D

But it's gonna take a lot more talking to get me into another one. I LOVE shawls. So handy. NYEH. Had to have a dose of Mamma Mia! so I won't get nightmares tonight.

I feel like the biggest shit in the world.

I'm so sorry Aliah babe. And my stupid phone died. Not like you're picking up :(

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY.

I shall get you a bigger present now. Sigh. I am soooo stupid.

Are you a Japanese or Korean?

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Friends aren't back from Aussie yet and most of them who are here are sitting for their finals. HENG, LETS GO OUT. :D

So, since the diet hasn't kicked off and the exercise isn't on high speed either, I've been indulging in a few Korean dramas. Okay, I have to clear this up before I continue. I'm not one of those people who can constantly watch drama after drama. Maximum 3 episodes a day. Mainly because I find these dramas so SLOW. Its EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW. And hor, I despise the sad, bawl your eyes out kind of dramas too. I CAN'T cry when the girl has cancer/ the guy has cancer/ the girl leaves/ the guy leaves etc. Call me cold and emotionless but I just don't find it sad when you make me wait for 3 episodes for the girl to finally tell the guy she is dying when I guessed it 6 episodes ago. Then they start crying and I start rolling my eyes. Its NOT depressing when its so slow. I tell you, I watched Winter Sonata and I only shed two tears during the entire show. I thought it would be nice since it was THE drama but I just felt restless for a good part of the show because the plot was like a ping pong game. Back and forth, back and forth.

If I want to cry, I'll watch Selena and Stepmom. They never disappoint to make me shed buckets.

So ANYWAY, a friend gave me a few comedy ones to watch because she can't stand the sad ones either. And I was never up to date with all the Jap and Korean dramas to begin with. Friends go "You HAVEN'T watched it??!!" Then I go "No" I never had the patience to watch dramas that were sooo draggy. And I doubt I could watch it AGAIN even if the series was funny. Which makes me wonder how some people can watch the drama over and over again.

Anywho, the point of this post is watching these Korean dramas made me recall the few times I was mistaken for a Jap or Korean. I worked at a Jap restaurant once a few eons ago and did get that question or remark thrown at me. And to be truthful, it always made me a little happy when I was asked that or was mistaken for a Jap. Then there was one time when I was shopping for earrings.

Sales girl: Are you Japanese?
Sara: *smiles sheepishly* No.
Sales girl: Korean?
S: Uh no.
Sales girl: Then? *Raises eyebrows*
S: I'm Malaysian.
Sales girl: Oh. Really?
S: Yeah.

I don't know why she was so surprised. I never thought I looked much like a Jap or Korean. The main reason I always felt a little happy was because I always had this conception that Korean and Jap girls are prettttty. Big, doe eyes. Long eyelashes. Fair skinned.

This has always been my conception of Korean girls.

I've been pretty blind. I never had an interest in Korean or Japanese people before this year. So now, since I have been listening to Korean and Jap songs and thus watching more videos, I have a deeper insight of what the majority of the girls look like.

I'm not implying ANYTHING. You be the judge. After watching more videos, I realise the Korean fans look VERY different from their idols. It's not surprising how these girls worship their local idols. Then I remembered how big an issue plastic surgery is for the girls over there. I don't know how true the stories are but I read that almost all the Korean singers went through plastic surgery before they could even become famous. No wonder those girls want plastic surgery for their birthdays :(

So now if I ever get another comment on whether I am a Jap or Korean, I'll always wonder, " Do I look THAT bad?" There's always a 50/50 chance. Either you look like a pretty singer.... or you don't. Which means the majority of the population. Sigh. Dreams crushed yet again.

Bum

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

You know you're a bum when the awesome plans to exercise during the holidays never materialise. Sigh. Planning was so easy.

I wanted to write something deep. Thought provoking. I lost the drive. I need my mojo back.

I'm alive dear readers. I can't believe one year has gone. I feel nostalgic.

Call me out yumcha soon cause the diet is starting soon.

A friend commented he wishes he was more like me because I was a bit hyper today. Haha. I was laughing at the irony. He has NEVER seen me during exam or assignment period for that matter. But yes, I do wish I could always be happy even during those bleak times.

***********

Romeo and Juliet has gotta be one of the better books I've read thus far.

I know.

I'm such a sap. But I can't help it. I never thought I would enjoy reading a play which I admit was not so easy to stomach at parts. Yes its a play if you didn't already know. I only could finish it because I roughly knew the play. But its so nice to read the actual words of a love story that has survived since the 1600's.

Romeo: Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.

*swoooons*
